Multiple sections need significant rewrites

Hello Wikipedia,

There is a lot of redundant/repeated information in this article that needs to be cleaned up. I just got here so I don't feel comfortable making such sweeping edits, so I thought I would post a call to action here in the event that anyone else comes across that page.
