Random opinion from a reader of this article: I hope it will not be deleted. I just found and read this brief article while doing scholarly research on Dracula. In Archibald Constable and Company's 1901 edition of Stoker's work, there is a prominent Monkey Brand ad. I had no idea what product the advertisment was promoting, or how the product might relate to the lives of the original target audience reading that particular edition of Dracula. I found this brief Wikipedia article to be very helpful to my research, particularly in regards to understanding an historic ad. Perhaps others will find this Wikipedia article to be of use in understanding historic media, too.
