questionable article

[edit]

To editor Mbdfar: VH1 says "Moniece's new album, The Naked Truth, was released independently and already broke the Billboard 200 charts" which might be enough to pass WP:MUSICBIO. I think you should have written first about the album which might be notable rather than the artist, who is likely not that notable. Being covered in the "urban" tabloid media isn't noteworthy, really. Chris Troutman (talk) 14:21, 18 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I made the article with point 10 of WP:SINGER in mind, having been the performer for the theme of America's Next Top Model. I would argue that the subject passes point 1, having coverage in many hip-hop related publications and in magazines such as Ebony.

You are right about SINGER number 10; my error. The Ebony piece seems to only recount what the subject said on Instagram, and is not independent of the subject so I discount it. Again, I'm not nominating the article for deletion. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:02, 18 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sources?

[edit]

A lot of the sources start with "Moniece says," are there any more sources other than her claims? Case in Point. It was confirmed that Tyra Banks sang the Theme Song Wanna be on Top for ANTM, as noted on the Wikipedia article. Is Slaughter saying she did background, and again, is there any clarification or verification of this?
