Radiation damage?

The article states "If samples are kept, they should be placed away from minerals that can be damaged by radiation." What is this talking about? What minerals are damaged by radiation? Generally "minerals" are pretty immune to that sort of attack... -- stillnotelf is invisible 15:28, 5 February 2013 (UTC) monazite is black in colour. Thank you for that. I have updated it per the info on Mindat as best I can, but don't know anything about the chemical structures and don't have time to dig further. Ideally, we need a citation for each of those types, as the Mindat pages don't seem to mention the elements in each as far as I can see. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 02:46, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
