Well I think they're the exceptions, for example Wafflewombat did a big overhaul to Han Solo in June/July 2024 and changed changed the names from Han to Solo. Of course, Ackbar is always called Ackbar lol. But even in the film articles, you have Han and Luke and Leia, not Solo and Skywalker and Organa. The last name thing is a hard rule for bio articles but fictional characters tend to lean towards how the characters are referred to in the related media, which is often first names. Anyway in this case it does seem like no one is going round calling her Mothma in Andor.— TAnthonyTalk03:49, 8 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

The article notes that Mon Mothma is "one of only four female characters with dialogue in the original three Star Wars films." But aren't there five? I count: 1) Princess Leia (all films); 2) Luke's Aunt, Beru Lars (ANH); 3) the Hoth Rebel Base Ion Cannon Commander, known in other media as Toryn Farr (ESB); 4) Jabba's dancer, Oola (ROTJ); and 5) Mon Mothma (ROTJ). Additionally, there are female characters singing for Jabba in Return of the Jedi, but because they are singing and not just talking, perhaps they do not count.
