[edit]I took this entry off "* the name of a Swedish band mixing ska and Irish folk music." because it doesn't link to an article or potential article. LGBT men

- Church_and_Wellesley#History refers to molly as a contemporary term for homosexual. Maybe needs an article or redirect or something? Tedernst 03:35, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

They are used to give the origin and meaning of names, and list those who are most often known only by that name or related similar names. Special significance?
[edit]Does this name have a special significance, for instance to the Irish? I ask because it seems so many bands use it as part of their band names: Flogging Molly, Molly Hatchet, Molly, Chrome Molly. - I suspect that The Mollys named themselves after the "Molly Maguires", a.k.a. "Mollies", a nineteenth-century Irish and Irish-diaspora secret society. I'll ask Mollys co-founder Nancy McCallion, who brought the Irish connection to the band, after spending part of her teen years with her Irish grandmother in Scotland.
