I am planning on updating this article in the next few weeks. I would like to make the lead section more in line with Wikipedias guidelines, namely by making it more concise and moving some information into the body of the article. I plan on keeping the existing structure of the article and expanding out each section with modern, revelevant information regarding the activities and projects of the tribe throughout the last decade bringing the article a little more up to date. Lastly, I am going to expand out the Vision section of the article and add in further information about cultural aspects of the tribe and how they are implementing their vision through their current work. This will give further insight into the tribe as an individual nation, rather than viewing the tribe in relationship to its surrounding state. Blood quantum

What is the average Indian blood quantum of enrolled members of the Mohegan Tribe? Are they primarily of European and/or African genetic heritage? And why is this issue not addressed at all in the current version of this article? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 03:45, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

Blood quantum is not a determining factor for enrollment in our tribe. We base enrollment on lineage, meaning if you can trace your ancestry to any member listed in the original rolls of 2003/2004—where the requirement was to prove lineage back to Uncas—you are eligible for enrollment. It's important to note that blood quantum originated from colonial policies designed to undermine and erase Native peoples, so it should be used with caution and awareness of its harmful historical context. @Gnomingstuff yah agreed. I understand the usefulness AI can bring but with Wikipedia if you use AI to write or expand an article you REALLY need to save it as a draft in your sandbox and then review it a few days later before updating the article. Funforme3 (talk) 19:14, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
