Send Routing Info merger

[edit]

I'd vote for just binning the SRI page altogether. It hardly contains any information, and what is there has errors in it (SRI isn't used for SMS, SRI-for-SM is). If we let SRI stay around, we're opening ourselves up for having to have a page for every MAP message there is! 86.144.170.33 19:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'd be inclined to agree, to be honest; whilst having a list of MAP messages on this page would be useful (with selective in-depth discussions where appropriate), I don't think the current content of the SRI page is useful enough to stand on its own or as the beginnings of a list within this page. Hmm - I'm generally against lists, but that's just me. A list of MAP messages here could be a bit cumbersome for this page (there's a lot of MAP operations out there, especially with the added GPRS equivalent of standard GSM ones) - perhaps a sub-page? Also, where's the line drawn? Even in this Release 4/5/+ world, I have, in the last couple of years, deliberately used a MAP phase 1 operation that's not present in more recent releases, simply because more recent releases didn't have something that did what I wanted (SendParameters, in case anyone's interested). 86.144.170.33 20:42, 16 April 2007 (UTC) (ok, I really should log in when doing this stuff, but I can't be bothered)Reply
You're probably right, especially given the specs are publicly available. In which case, there's little in favour of a merger, just a removal of the SRI page. Nevalicori 13:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

MAP ANSI

[edit]

The article does not cover the MAP variant used in the U.S. and defined in the ANSI specification series X.S0004. I'd be delighted to have it treated in the article. Vlk (talk) 10:55, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
