Feedback from New Page Review process

[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: This appears to be about moated settlements in a certain area. It should probably either be renamed or broadened accordingly. If renamed, the redirects that go to it might need redirecting to more general targets. Happy editing.

Suffering from mistaken translation?

[edit]

Second sentence of intro says When a moat is surrounded by a water moat, it is written moat encircling, and when a moat is surrounded by a empty moat, it is written moat encircling to distinguish it. Two phrases written differently in some language that have been translated to the same phrase in English.

Throughout the article, the term "moat encircling settlement" is used where "moat-encircled settlement" would be better English and where the article's title "moated settlements" would probably work just as well. Since I can't read the sources in their original language, I'm not able to see exactly how this apparent translation mistake works.  jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:23, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
