Edit conflict

[edit]

Hi. There seems to be some problem, an edit conflict, and am not entirely clear why and what about? Could someone enlighten me pl? ThanksKhani100 (talk) 07:00, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100Reply

Hello, further to the above--have done some work on this article today and shall be doing more work over time, i.a., so it's a new and an ongoing project. The article is not an 'orphan' and it has a respectably-sized 'family', and collateral branches too : ) --and they shall link up in good time! This 'baby' was born today and you cant expect it to run before it can even walk, right? So, please bear with it; and me, thanks Khani100 (talk) 08:54, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100Reply

Ahhh, I see the root of your problem. :) I've also replied to your inquiery on my Talk page, feel free to check that out too. See the ARTICLE is an orphan, not the subject itself. Feel free to read through the explanation of what an edit conflict is, then I think you'll understand. You must have been trying to modify the page at the same time as someone else, (I guess me) they saved their changes, and then Wikipedia didn't know what to do with yours. All you have to do is figure out how to reapply your changes and merge them in with theirs. There are instructions both on the Edit Conflict page, and that screen that you saw. Jesse V. By the way, I like where this article is going. Sounds very encyclopedic already, keep up the good work and keep researching! I haven't checked to see if this is a problem, but just make sure that you're rephrasing your source in your own words, since a simply copy/paste is bad due to copyright issues and all that. But from what I've seen, it seems that things are going really well and it'll be good to see more! Jesse V. (talk) 15:50, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Thanks for your reply--shall also check out your Talk Page directly and read up the info on the above links. Im sorry to be a bother, but fact is, while am keen on research etc, am not so good at the technical aspects of Wikipedia and possibly, some problems might arise out of this. But am learning, gradually. V best regs, Khani100 (talk) 04:54, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100Reply

Actually, I hadnt typed in that much info and have now added the later/updated version, as you see it, which is proceeding well, thank you. I hope to be able to make something good out of this in due course. Khani100 (talk) 04:57, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100Reply

Stay dedicated. Trust me, a truly encyclopedic article that you wrote is something to be proud of, because they take skill! Good luck to you, Jesse V. (talk) 05:09, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks ! Im v happy to be part of Wikipedia and am learning a lot from this collaborative effort, and hopefully shall in time be able to produce articles of good standard, Regs, Khani100 (talk) 05:25, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100Reply

Building up

[edit]

Hi all. Am slowly building up this article, and would be grateful for some info-- if anyone knows where I can get a good photo (in line with Wikipedia/Wikimedia copyright standards and guidelines) would really like to have one, or more, thanks! Khani100 (talk) 05:25, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100Reply

Since this is a new article, I'm not sure that there are many active edits of this article besides yourself, and IMO at this point you're unlikely to get a reply here. I'd post on the Talk pages of the WikiProjects; there are probably a good amount of other editors there who would would be interested. Jesse V. (talk) 14:56, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
