The CIA map (as well as Google maps) show Minimarg within Azad Kashmir. While official Pakistani maps seem to show it within Astore in Gilgit Baltistan. In any case, there seems to be confusion about where does the tract around Minimarg lie administratively. If you have better sources or phrasing, share them so. yes, I had noticed it before and likely User:nimul badal might have the confusion too, the maps from Tourism Department of the Government of Gilgit Baltistan and Planning and Development Department of Azad Kashmir show the area within the Astore District, probably due to which Open Street Map does the same and slightly differs from the Google Maps in drawing the AJK boundary. The CIA map linked above for Kashmir region and NASA Worldview map show it within the Neelum District of Azad Kashmir just south of the AJK-GB boundary line. So, calling it on or near the border would be correct if there is no RS for the side that actually administers it. MŠLQr (talk) 08:17, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

@Sutyarashi: I am sorry yes, so I was going to start a discussion but I got carried away finding out about the actual province/state of the town (hence my partial revert), and in doing so I went off Wikipedia.

I'm just going to list some issues I had (of course nothing worth dying for).

1. The description, I would just change to "village in Gilgit-Baltistan" or "Village in x district, in x state" instead of "Pakistani administered Kashmir".

2. Any reason for the removal of Pakistan and the state in the infobox?

3. The economy and the trade section was deleted, but I think we should keep it and have it verified?

4. I'll be re adding the Urdu name as well in the lede.

5. so what province does it lie in? Of course online maps show it being a part of AJK, but on a Quick Look - News agencies etc, put the village in GB نعم البدل (talk) 10:42, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

for your 5) yes I saw more than three news articles mentioning it in GB, one from Radio Pakistan and Dawn each, while this one from Dawn and one from this site mention it in AJK. And for 1,2 & 5, neither GB nor AJK is a province, there is no issue with the wording; it is obvious according to sources that it lies in Pakistani-administered Kashmir near LoC. 3)Separate section for economy of a village? The trade route aspect seems to have been merged under the History section, as it was repeatedly appearing in a separate section in previous version, see 23 July version. • neither GB nor AJK is a province - yeah GB itself is in a limbo of some kind. If the village lies in Azad Kashmir, I would change it to "village in Azad Kashmir, Pakistani administered Kashmir", which I believe is the format that was agreed on several years back. In the infobox, Administering country as Pakistan, while territory as AJK.

The village does lie in Astore as per majority of the sources as well as the governments of both Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Sutyarashi (talk) 18:38, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
