Minera Chapel
[edit]What is meant by Minera Chapel? The first chapel in Minera was built as a chapel of ease to ease to Wrexham Parish Church, possibly before the reformation- this was subsequently rebuilt to become Minera Pqarish Church. Pen Y Bryn was certainly the first non-conformist chapel. The Vicarage Halt was so called because it was next to the Vicarage, not because it was also a vicarage as implied. It would be good if there was more information about Minera Limeworks.
- According to COFLEIN, "PENYBRYN (1), (2) AND (3) WELSH METHODIST CHAPEL (WELSH WESLEYAN;MINERA), MWNGLAWDD, MINERA - Chapel built 1803/4; rebuilt/enlarged 1859-60. Rebuilt again 1901/2. Status (late C20): disused.". COFLEIN says of St Mary's Church "The church was entirely rebuilt in 1865 on the site of an older chapel.
