Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/08/fashion/africas-new-fashion-influence.html. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.)

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, providing it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Operator873CONNECT 20:22, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requested update to lead and career section

[edit]

I am professionally connected to Mimi Plange and am proposing the following changes for review rather than making a major direct rewrite myself. The goal is to improve sourcing, remove vague wording, and update the article with museum and collaboration information supported by published sources.

  Unable to review
Your edit request could not be reviewed because the request is not formatted correctly.

  1. The citation style predominantly used by the Mimi Plange article appears to be Citation Style 1. The citation style used in the edit request consists of bare titles. Any requested edit of yours which may be implemented will need to resemble the current style already in use in the article – in this case, CS1. (See WP:CITEVAR.)
  2. Citation ref tags have not been placed within the requested text indicating which portions of the text the source is referencing. (See WP:INTEGRITY.)

In the collapsed section below titled Request edit examples, I have illustrated two: The first shows how the edit request was submitted; the second shows how requests should be submitted in the future.

Kindly rewrite your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example shown in the collapsed section above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request below this reply message at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor. Regards,  Spintendo  11:35, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Focused request: update first sentence of lead

[edit]

I am professionally connected to Mimi Plange and am proposing this focused change for independent review rather than editing the article directly.

Please change the first sentence of the lead from:

“Mimi Plange is a Ghanaian-American fashion designer whose practice applies architectural construction principles to garment-making.”

to:

“Mimi Plange is a Ghanaian-American multidisciplinary designer whose work spans fashion, footwear, furniture, and interiors.”[1][2][3]

Design Milk describes Mimi Plange as a “multidisciplinary designer” and discusses her work extending into window treatments and the built environment. Hypebeast documents her footwear work with Nike Basketball and LeBron James. Atlanta Magazine documents her furniture collaboration with Roche Bobois.

This request is intentionally limited to the opening sentence so it can be reviewed independently. Thank you. ~2026-46604-80 (talk) 21:00, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
