Kasubes

Kasubes were here earlier than 1870. Attorney for Illinois Steel, Otjen, wanted them off Jones Island, but failed. Kasubes all had land grants from Michigan Territory, ergo prior to WI statehood in 1848(?). Cityscape Panorama

Cityscape Panorama lead image is woefully out of date, especially given the amount of development (St. John's, NWML, Ascent, BMO, 777, Couture, fiserv, Kimpton, etc.) that has occurred in Milwaukee over the past 15 years since the current image was taken. Changes to 2020 population

The challenge City of Milwaukee had against the 2020 Census got denied, but there was still an increase of 771 residents compared to the reported figure. The Census website still shows the old figure, however. Given the sensitivity of such numbers, should we wait until the Census website is updated with the new count, or is this news article sufficient? huntertur (talk) 02:52, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

Sister cities/Friendship cities source discrepancies

The cited source for Sister cities does not entirely match the presented information. Daegu, South Korea is listed as a sister city of Milwaukee. On the City of Milwaukee page on Milwaukee's sister cities, which is linked as the section's source, Daegu isn't present. All other cities are fine including Medan, Indonesia which isn't on the City of Milwaukee page but contains its own separate source. Additionally, under Friendship cities: Ningbo, China is listed with its own source attached. On the City of Milwaukee Common Council page, they also list Chasse-sur-Rhône, France as a "friendly exchange city" of Milwaukee.

TL;DR: Should Daegu, South Korea still be listed as a sister city of Milwaukee if it's no longer listed under the section's attached source? Additionally, should Chasse-sur-Rhôde, France be added to the list of friendship cities of Milwaukee due to its label as a "friendly exchange city" on the City of Milwaukee website? Daegu was removed from the sister cities page sometime in 2022–2023 (it's there in Dec 2022 but not in Mar 2023). It's reasonable to assume that Daegu is no longer a sister city for whatever reason, and it's also reasonable to assume that no local news outlet would care to cover that!

Reading the description of the Chasse-sur-Rhôde relationship, it sounds like it could be upgraded to sister city in a year. Ed ^{[talk] [OMT]} 01:33, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
