Images

[edit]

@PleiadesOrion: - the amount of images across this page goes against Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images and MOS:SANDWICH. It prevents a user from coherent article reading. Why do you and your IP keep readding them if we aim for a better quality article? Can't a selection be made? Merangs (talk) 14:44, 1 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

In my opinion, an article about Milan would be incomplete without mentioning Via Dante, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia, La Rinascente department store (Milan's equivalent of Galeries Lafayette in Paris), Pinacoteca Ambrosiana (which complements the collection of the more famous Pinacoteca di Brera with additional masterpieces from the Renaissance), the Navigli, and a panoramic view of the impressive Piazza del Duomo, among numerous other important details. I lived in Milan for many years and I can assure you that most Milanese editors would agree with this statement. PleiadesOrion (talk) 22:41, 1 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@PleiadesOrion: - Hi. This has nothing to do with the actual sites depicted, but with the number of images in the article. It needs to be cut. There needs to be consensus on what images can be removed. I am no judge on the content, but many sections violate MOS:SANDWICH. As such, readability of this article is heavily impacted. I haven't seen any "sandwiching of the text between two images" in the article. The text is sufficient and the amount of images is definitely not disturbing. The images (which are mostly placed at the right side of the page) are aligned correctly. PleiadesOrion (talk) 23:39, 1 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@PleiadesOrion: - No, they are not and they run between various sections, for example the park images appear in the demographics section. Moreover, the history and economy sections appear cluttered with images not corresponding to text. Can you please check other city articles and make a comparison?
