Disputed Neutrality 26 August 2025

COI disclaimer: Mike Rakes was president my last two years as an evangel university student. I have met him in person a handful of times but would not say we necessarily "know each other."

I wanted to pursue this because i noticed some weird editing (overly promotional, mutliple accounts, etc.) patterns in the history of this page. I am also a new Wiki-er so if i am going about this wrong, please teach me what to do instead! I do not know if this constitutes grounds for a deletion of this page (his connect to Evangel and Oral Roberts University provide some notability), but perhaps we should re-evaluate how this page was constructed and if it need to be deleted/reduced and rebuilt.

There are three main contributing editors engaging in some odd editing patterns. This is not making a claim about anyone personally, just that the editing conventions are strange and perhaps not allowed. Below is a bulleted list of my findings.

• multiple submissions for Mike Rakes page for Articles for Creation (denied)
• user Lord Belbury addressed potential concerns 28 September 2022 (no reply)
• username perhaps stems from Evangel University President 5? (This is not a personal slight or attack, just an observation).

LigerPartners

• this is the account which finally got the submission put through
  • his submission is essentially the same as EUP5 and 64.22.242.80, just formatted to meet Wikipedia standards
    • this does not fix the issue of promotion or neutral POV (especially considering his colleague asked him to submit article).
• only activity related to this account is Mike Rakes page and Mike Rakes content on Evangel's page
• on 16 July 2022 user ElKevbo asked if LigerPartners had any connection to EU or Mike Rakes
  • His reply: "I do not. I was asked by a colleague to submit the entry (I think they had tried on their own multiple times without success because they weren't following proper wikipedia format and style. I did the research and created the entry from what I was able to confirm and support"
  • ElKevbo: "Thanks for the quick and helpful answer. One more question: Are you the only person using this account? I ask because the username matches the name of a company that does social media marketing and advertising"
    • LigerPartners: "I am the only using the account - I own Liger Partners, but we don't do any sales or marketing for Evangel or Mike Rakes. My real name is Eric Holtzclaw. Just set the account up that way cause I didn't want to use my real name"

Summary

In sum, I do not know if this warrants the deletion of the page, but I wanted to collect some of the odd editing that I noticed in the history. If you know what to do next, please advise! Sorry if I am hurrying through this process too quickly.

It is my opinion that this article's creation was done by circumventing earlier concerns without fixing them. that is my concern for deletion. if I am way out of my lane, please teach me please do not ban me. I think this article has some degree of notability to some and others may come along in the future and recreate it as a stub if it provides a valuable contribution to Wikipedia. As of now, it seems like it was created for self-promotion and less-than-transparent editing and therefore should be deleted. Braden Parks (talk) 19:20, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
