This was a cute little game while it lasted. I'll take a look soon. λ NegativeMP1 22:11, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Prose

Images

[edit]
  • There are only two images in the article, being the cover art and a gameplay screenshot. Obviously justified, and they both have valid rationales.

Final comments

[edit]

Article seems fairly well researched and written, but there's a few minor prose things that I think need to be worked out. I'll be placing this on hold for now to give you time to address the above comments. λ NegativeMP1 23:06, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Got caught up in some other things and forgot about this review for a bit, sorry. With all of my comments above already responded and the article looking good, I'm passing this now. Good job. λ NegativeMP1 19:22, 10 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The result was: promoted by History6042 talk 10:47, 23 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • ... that Mighty Doom featured a cartoonish aesthetic that contrasted with the dark, gritty tone of the mainline Doom series?
    • ALT1: ... that the story of Mighty Doom revolved around demons who took the protagonist's pet rabbit, Daisy? Source: [2]
    • ALT2: ... that in the mobile game Mighty Doom, Doomguy appeared as Mini Slayer, a toy-like version of himself? Source: [3]

Improved to Good Article status by Vestigium Leonis (talk). Number of QPQs required: 0. Nominator has fewer than 5 past nominations.

  • New enough criteria satisfied by being promoted to GA status on June 10. Article is long enough. Though I trust the GA review process to have ensured criteria 3 to 5 are met (article is well-sourced; presentable; hook is properly cited/sourced), I did go through these as well. These are met. Hooks are interesting and short enough. QPQ does not need to be done here. Only issue is ALT1 (and I believe ALT2?) would not be allowed as per supplementary rule C6. I think it's a silly rule that we should find a way to get rid of honestly, but as of now it is the guideline here. This however, does not apply to ALT0, which is good to go for the DYK section. I would only suggest that the promoter tweak it to read/link as: "... that Mighty Doom featured a cartoonish aesthetic that contrasted with the dark, gritty tone of the mainline Doom series?" Tense

[edit]

So, I noticed there's some disagreement about the correct tense for the article. @NegativeMP1 explained it well in the edit summary. This is a defunct mobile game that is no longer playable. I previously asked for input at WikiProject Video games and ultimately decided to follow the example set by Sonic Runners during this article's GA review. Sonic Runners is another defunct mobile game with GA status, and its article handles tense the same way. Vestigia Leonis (talk) 10:27, 28 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Am I recalling it incorrectly, or was it the other way around a while back? That it is a defunct game that is no longer available, like a piece of lost art. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:48, 28 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
MOS:VGTENSE states "Use the present tense when describing a subject that continues to exist. For example, a 1984 video game and console both continue to exist as long as copies of both are in circulation, but both a canceled video game and a discontinued online game exist only in the past tense". It then gives an example of this: "Glitch was a browser-based massively multiplayer online game launched in 2011 and discontinued the next year". Unless I am misinterpreting the text here I'm pretty sure treating this game as in the past tense is fair. λ NegativeMP1 18:28, 28 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Soetermans I'm not sure if this was different in the past, as I haven't worked on many defunct games. But based on the excerpt from the MOS above, we should be fine with the current version. Vestigia Leonis (talk) 09:06, 29 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
