Named after Mickey Mantle?

Does anyone know? I mean, they're both from Oklahoma and both baseball players and Tettleton was born in 1960, when Mantle was at the peak of his career. I realize it could be a stretch and maybe it's just coincidence but don't forget that Mantle's father was such an avid baseball fan that he named his son after the Philadelphia Athletics catcher Mickey Cochrane, so maybe Tettleton was named after Mantle. Removal of old vandalism

Comments on "Selective style" don't make sense

I don't understand the text, "But his selective style at the plate, combined with his power hitting mentality also led to Tettleton's 1,307 career strike-outs". How can his selective style at bat lead to 1300+ strikeouts? It's sort of like saying a person's selective eating habits led to them weighing 400lbs. It makes more sense to me to say something along the lines of, "But despite his selective style at the plate, his power hitting mentality led to 1,307 career strikeouts" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Msturek (talk • contribs) 17:33, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
