Anthony Chenevix-Trench
[edit]Eton headmaster Anthony Chenevix-Trench was a descendant of Richard Chenevix Trench. The name Chenevix is frequently mis-spelled as Chevenix. The double-barrelled surname 'Chenevix Trench' was written without a hyphen in the time of Archbishop Trench. DFH 19:25, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Eton College: Caning and school dress
[edit]To the best of my memory, McCrum did cane, but did not do so "with considerable regularity". There was a school dress poll, but IIRC it did not pass because the only alternative on offer was no less formal; if more informal dress has been on offer the vote may have passed. In any case, the claim that McCrum tried to change the school dress needs specific referencing. Viewfinder (talk) 09:35, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
