"Nazi-censored"

[edit]

Calling a newspaper published under the auspices of the Nazis with an editor appointed by the Nazis "Nazi-censored" is highly misleading. If anything, simply saying "Nazi-censored" implies the newspaper is oppositional to the Nazis. As Chomiak was appointed by the Nazi administration to edit the newspaper (which had been seized from a Jewish owner) and as the editorial line of the newspaper was clearly pro-Nazi saying that it was "Nazi-censored" or "German-censored" as a leading descriptor is a mischaracterization and obfuscates the nature of the newspaper. Even Der Sturmer was "Nazi-censored" as all legal publications within Nazi occupied Europe were but to use that adjective in the lede would completely obscure the fact that Der Sturmer was an antisemitic Nazi propaganda newspaper.
