Methylisopropyllysergamide → MiPLA – This drug is almost exclusively known by its acronym. In Google Scholar, "MiPLA LSD" query ("LSD" added for disambiguation) gets 61 results, while "methylisopropyllysergamide OR N-Methyl-N-isopropyllysergamide LSD" query gets 6 results. The acronym "MiPLA", with the lowercase 'i', is, as far as I can see, exclusively associated with this compound. "MiPLA" and "MIPLA" also redirect back to this page currently. Per WP:ACROTITLE, the acronym should be used "[if] the subject is known primarily by its abbreviation and that abbreviation is primarily associated with the subject (e.g. PBS, NATO, Laser)." Also WP:CONCISE prefers more concise and readily interpretable titles where reasonable. Using acronym for title would follow other established pages like LSD and MDMA as well. And the pages of the prodrug forms, 1P-MIPLA and 1cP-MIPLA, already go by their acronyms (so WP:CONSISTENT). AlyInWikiWonderland (talk, contribs) 06:41, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Is it possible to title it the following way: Methyisopropyllysergamide (MiPLA) so the acronym is in the title in paratheses? I've never seen a chemical or drug page titled in that way on Wikipedia. I feel like it probably goes against some Wiki policies or style guidelines, but I wouldn't know which ones specifically. – AlyInWikiWonderland (talk, contribs) 00:09, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Weak support. Only 'weak' because I feel I have a weak grasp on sourcing. But MiPLA has many more hits on Google Scholar, Springer–Nature, and Wiley. Not every "mipla" hit referred to the drug but this appears to be the most common usage.
