Business Promotion Link?

[edit]

Hi there,

I usually edit Wikidata, and haven't done a ton on Wikipedia. I noticed that in the below excerpt from this article, the link at the end behind the words "Metadata discovery" goes to a business intelligence company's website where they sell metadata discovery software. I think this is either a mistake or an attempt to promote this business. I think it ought to be removed. Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding. --Clements.UWLib (talk) 20:53, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

In metadata, metadata discovery (also metadata harvesting) is the process of using automated tools to discover the semantics of a data element in data sets. This process usually ends with a set of mappings between the data source elements and a centralized metadata registry. Metadata discovery is also known as metadata scanning.
