One of the bigger points of the Mesha inscription is where it agrees with Israel rather than contradicts it. It confirms that Israel likely did control Moab at one point, and gives information on the Israelite ruler Omri, who is barely mentioned in the Torah but is historically significant. Does anyone else think this is worth mentioning?

Is this available? [1] claims that the name of Israel's god, YHWH, appears on the stele. Can this be confirmed? How is it used. Surely the language of the monument is Moabite and the name may have a different reference? Bruce D. Despain (talk) 20:10, 12 March 2018 (UTC)Bruce D. DespainReply

The suggestion that the sacrifice was of an Edomite rather than Moabite prince is sheer nonsense and should be removed. Whoever put that in should be barred from Wikiipedia if you want to maintain any level quality.
