Incorrect Coat of Arms

[edit]

There are two Coat of Arms I seem to see for Merseyside County Council. The one currently on this article, which I haven't seen before outside of this article (added in 2022), and the Actual CoA.

This is potentially Hoax Vandalism, or Image Vandalism, as they are removing encyclopaedic information and replacing it with their own design.

What's interesting is this new file is marked as "Own work." After looking through the WikiMedia profile of the person who uploaded the file and made the change, User:IndysNotHere, they have made similar changes to other coats of arms, by creating his own vectors, that are not actually accurate to the original designs.

I'm going to revert the edit on this page but I think it needs to be investigated by someone more confident than myself. ChillyDude153198 (talk) 14:16, 13 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
