Number of species?

The article repeatedly says there are 22 species (in 10 genera) of sea ducks, but the article then lists 21 extant species (in 9 genera) or 23 species (in 10 genera) when recently extinct species are included. Unsure if extant or total species is the preferred number, and whether more extinct species need to be added onto the list. Dikiyoba (talk) 19:09, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
