In regards to Merab submitting Sean O’Malley at UFC 316, currently on the page it specifies it as a North-south choke. But according the UFC 316 main card page on UFC.com it reads that the specific choke used was actually a ninja choke. 24.83.206.134 (talk) 03:21, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello, as Georgian I find it disrespectful to Merab Dvalishvili that his photo was changed to the current one. This current photo is old and Merab doesn't look like himself, and the photo has terrible quality. I doubt angry Marab haters changed it to mock Merab right after his second title defense.

Hi @Lolovskiy, unfortunately we are only allowed to use photos that can be distributed and that are not protected by copyright. First Georgian-born

@GOAT Bones231012 He isn't the first Georgian-born champion. He might be the first born IN Georgia, but Ilia has had Georgian citizenship since birth. If you want to change it to 'first champion born in Georgia', go for it. It sounds dumb, but at least it would be correct. Georgian implies nationality, not place of birth. Not saying Ilia doesn’t have Georgian citizenship. The following is straight from the reference I added: "The first Georgian-born champion in UFC history, Dvalishvili is currently on an 11-fight win streak, the longest in UFC bantamweight history, which includes victories over Umar Nurmagomedov, Sean O’Malley, and Henry Cejudo." I am not sure how one would confuse that to mean anything else other than he was the first ufc fighter born in the country of Georgia to become champion. I just think its dumb to have 'first Georgian champ' on Ilia's page and then 'first Georgian-born champ' on Merabs. And if your argument hinges on that reference, then know its not a reliable source. Its a user-created blog. Nswix (talk) 00:05, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
