I have restored the deleted text on descent of the estate, which had been moved to article Rashleigh family. In that article it was presented very unsatisfactorily as merely an unsequential list of prominent family members. All useful connection to Menabilly was thus lost, including the story of the parallel development of the estate and family together. The family cannot be dissociated from its historic seat nor vice versa without losing much impact. The house was built to glorify the family and the family gains stature and interest from the grandeur of the house and estate. I intend to broaden this article into one about the estate of Menabilly not just about the house, mainly by widening the intro. (Lobsterthermidor (talk) 15:29, 8 March 2014 (UTC))Reply

This person appears to have been the eldest son of Jonathan II Rashleigh (1642-1702), but is not mentioned in Burke's Landed Gentry. He was stated to have rebuilt Menabilly c 1715. I have removed unsourced mention of him in the article, pending finding of sources. His heir seems to have been his brother Jonathan III (1690-1764).(Lobsterthermidor (talk) 16:34, 10 March 2014 (UTC))Reply
