Kiko should not be listed as a member. Teemu is the new guitarist, as the website shows.

Metallica's spinoff or not?

If you look at Metallica's wiki page, there is written "Spinoffs: Megadeth · Phantasm". In my mind it makes sense since David Scott "Dave" Mustaine was fired from Metallica and went to form Fallen Angels → Megadeth.

So, should we (or me or maybe you, dear reader) add the section "(Megadeth) Spinoff of: Metallica"? 37.30.48.43 (talk) 12:14, 14 September 2025 (UTC)

Would "key former members" be acceptable here?

Certain band pages, such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails, lists former members, despite having a separate Members page. The former members are usually pretty obvious, and typically aren't more than a dozen names, anyway.

In Megadeth's case, I think it'd be appropriate here. The "key former members" criteria would be pretty simple - the members that appeared on the full-length studio albums as official members: David Ellefson, Gar Samuelson, Chris Poland, Jeff Young, Chuck Behler, Nick Menza, Marty Friedman, Jimmy DeGrasso, Al Pitrelli, Glen Drover, Shawn Drover, Chris Broderick, Kiko Loureiro, and Chris Adler. That's 14 names. A tad longer than my aforementioned examples, but not unbearable.

FYI - in a few years, there won't be any current members to list, due to Megadeth's inevitable disbandment. It will look similar to Kiss when that happens. So having this settled beforehand is ideal, too. Xanarki (talk) 23:46, 18 October 2025 (UTC)

No, I reckon just leave it as is – 14 is still a lot, which is why it's usually formatted where only the current members are listed if there's a separate members page and a certain number or more of former members/other musicians. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 01:20, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
