October 6, 2007 Edit
[edit]The October 6, 2007 edit contained information that could not be verified, specifically regarding the attributing authorship of the site to Jeff Smith and Media Mouse's relationship to the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. I was able to find no indication that Jeff Smith is Media Mouse's "principal author and editor," nor could anything be found showing that Media Mouse was "informally affiliated" with the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. I found that the Grand Rapids Institute for Information Democracy (GRIID) was a part of the Media Center, but no similar information could be found about Media Mouse. Consequently, I removed that section because it was uncited. It can certainly be resubmitted if citations are included.
Finally, I looked up information on the IP address attributed to the edit and it resolves to an address with Gemini Publications, a media outlet in Grand Rapids:
reparation: The reverse DNS entry for an IP is found by reversing the IP, adding it to "in-addr.arpa", and looking up the PTR record. So, the reverse DNS entry for 63.168.29.210 is found by looking up the PTR record for 210.29.168.63.in-addr.arpa. It's kind of interesting that another media outlet would appear to be making a change to Media Mouse's entry.
