I agree that there is more than 3 types but these are the basic ones you learn in 9th grade physical science. (cgreen)

SURFACE WAVES (circular wave fronts)

Does anyone know what is meant when the author states, "surface waves(travels in clockwise circles)."? I believe it should be noted that a surface wave is merely a transverse wave that moves radial outward from a central point. (kglynn)
