I think there might be an error in this article. The article states that Mayomazon has "seven pairs of gill openings". It also states thes Mayomazon "differs from modern lampreys in having fewer gill openings".

I think that one of these statements might be false because every clear photo I can find of a modern lamprey shows seven sets of gill openings. Also, the illustration depicts Mayomazon with six sets. B3medes (talk) 03:01, 6 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
