Minnesota statehood day 1858

Had you cited it properly instead of using a bare URL, it would have been clear that it was a Library of Congress site and not one of the sites referred to by the instruction "Do not trust "this year in history" websites for accurate date information" that appears on all date pages. The url has now been expanded into cite web format. The rule is there because of persistent vandalism with all sorts of rubbish being added to these articles. It applies to all entries including those, like Minnesota statehood, which are unquestionably notable and easily checked for accuracy. No Great Shaker (talk) 14:05, 1 June 2019 (UTC)

But there also has to be a Wikipedia article about it. There does not seem to be a 'holiday or or observance' for this day, just the bare historical fact. It should be mentioned in 'events' for 1858, but not here. 142.163.194.199 (talk) 11:54, 11 May 2022 (UTC)

It's already present in 1858 in the United States, the only such list where it is likely to be of interest to the average reader. Deb (talk) 13:45, 11 May 2022 (UTC)

Pruning

I know there’s various shades of pruning going on: in order to keep things in order. Indeed, I’ve asked for clean-up myself. But this On This Day entry does look rather spare!
