• When the antagonistic force known as the Abyss Why are they antagonistic?

• The Abyss Order (or just the "Abyss") are the game's main antagonists, although their end goal is very mysterious. I know this is USERG, but the Genshin Impact Wiki describes them as "the enemies of humanity and surface civilization". Can't think of a better way to describe it. • the domain governing What is a "domain" in this context?

• After miHoYo released the initial trailer for Natlan, some players were dissatisfied with the characters' pale skin. Kenneth Shepard of Kotaku and Michael Cripe of IGN speculated that Mavuika was inspired by Māori mythology, despite the fact that her skin is white. Needs to be elaborated on more. Why exactly is her having pale skin an issue? Also "despite the fact her skin is white" does not preclude her from being Maori, so would need to be explained more

• The issue was that the community sees the Maori people as being darker-skinned (in general) than the skin tones of the characters ingame. In other words, they wanted the characters based on dark-skinned people to actually have dark skin. Gommeh 📖   🎮 18:56, 24 October 2025 (UTC)

• Is Ref #28 really a reliable enough ref? I don't think it can support "sparking significant online discussion" as a primary source, if the topic even warrants a mention anyways.

@Jeromi Mikhael: I'm thinking of adding this picture of Chrissy Costanza as an image, but I'm not sure how to add that now that I've already made the nomination. The hook would be the same as ALT1, just with "(pictured)" added after the singer's name. Would that be OK? Gommeh 📖   🎮 13:30, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

• Due to hook wording concerns and the fact that a Genshin character hook is scheduled to run on January 11 (this was originally scheduled to run on January 7), I've temporarily pulled the hook per WT:DYK#Mavuika. This will be repromoted once a suitable wording is proposed and enough time has passed between the two hooks. It probably might since people might assume the hook was more about Costanza than Mavuika, but the main issue here is that we generally don't encourage image requests due to having too many requests compared to slots. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:40, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
