Occupations

[edit]

I have some doubts about the "occupations" listed in the infobox. Contractor is a particular job title whereas the occupation might be more correctly described as "construction" and IIRC Casey is trained as a carpenter. Similarly alderman is only a title for a type of local politician, and the occupation is politics. How does this work for other similar articles? -- 109.79.172.203 (talk) 09:49, 5 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lead rewrite needed

[edit]

The lead section the article needs a rewrite. It is heavy on information about Voight and Chicago PD which is relevant to season 1 (and to a lesser extent season 3) but light on information about much of the rest of the 10 seasons of Chicago Fire. It is does not adequately summarize the character of Matt Casey or give an balanced summary of the series or adequately summarize the contents of what is listed in this Wikipedia article.

I don't think the task of rewriting the lead will be easy, there is a whole lot of work needed, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section. It is absolutely necessary though, so I have tagged the lead section also and explained here in case someone deletes the tag without fixing it. -- 109.79.164.114 (talk) 16:07, 25 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I gave it a trim so it did not emphasize Voight so very heavily but a proper WP:LEAD section should still provide a summary of the whole article and not put undue emphasis on the earliest seasons. (I wouldn't even rate this as a C class article yet.) -- 109.78.204.3 (talk) 22:33, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
