Birth date
[edit]So far, all of the cited sources do not verify the claimed birth date of January 12th, 1936. If you have a published reliable source that proves the article subject's January 12th, 1936 date, please provide it. Otherwise, Biography of living persons & Verifiability both apply. - Shearonink (talk) 18:37, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
To add to article
[edit]Basic information to add to this article (in order to help make it more properly encyclopedic): information about Cimber's family background, parents, early life, and ethnic heritage. If he was of Italian heritage, why not mention that in the text of this article? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 03:54, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @98.123.38.211:. Seems reasonable, but you need to support each entry with a reliable source, such as those approved in WP:RSP, if not there, checked at WP:RSN, and also not in WP:DEPS, Commons:Bad_sources, and Mirrors_and_forks – though there is no guarantee. WP:RS should give you the general ideas. Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 04:27, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
In the documentary My Mom Jayne it was stated that Matt Cimber and Jayne Mansfield fought a lot. 98.123.38.211 (talk) 03:57, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @98.123.38.211:. Maybe at least add from Mansfield's Marriages, children, and affairs (noting in the edit summary: "copied content from Jayne Mansfield; see that page's history for attribution") plus anything that is supported by a reliable source. Died or Separated...
[edit]for Cimber's marriage to Jayne Mansfield in the infobox. I reverted the "died" back to "separated" as the editorial consensus. "separated"/sep. has been the preferred info in the infobox but there's a long-simmering disagreement with multiple reversions. So. Let's discuss. - Shearonink (talk) 03:35, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- Separated (sep.) is accurate. Their legal status was separated at the time of her death. Separation was first in time, preceded her death, and death didn't change the preexisting condition. The Infobox relates the status of marriages, which in this case was separated. Using death gives the reader who looks only at the Infobox an inaccurate impression of the legal status of the marriage, ignoring and suppressing the facts that they were separated and were in the midst of divorce.
