Regarding this edit of mine, two remarks.

The claim that Matica in WWII "maintained the principles of justice, freedom, art and humanism on which it is based" is absolutely contravened by Aralica (2009). No need to go into details here, see pp. 466–470 (section 2.2).

The claim that Matica "refused [...] to publish works which were in line with, at the time, official (Nazi) ideology" seems dubious to me: I couldn't find support for it in Aralica (2009), even though the paper specifically discusses the relation between Matica and the regime.
