Mathias McGirk history

There are no known photographs of Mathias. Hoping to find some leads on some. Also I am working to update the information on his family. He did in fact marry Elizabeth Talbot, but they did in fact have one daughter who is buried with them. I will get a name and whatever dates I can off of their graves in a few days. here is a good source of information. There are census tables showing his one child in the 1830’s and it appears he had other families living with him in the 40’s. Worth noting his slave ownership is also accounted for here. ~2026-43084-56 (talk) 02:00, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

I think it's unlikely photographs would exist as it looks like professional photography didn't make it way to Missouri until the late 1840s, after McGirk's death. I T B F 📢 03:09, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

Interestingly it looks like McGirk also presided over the trials of Mary (slave) and was on the bench for Winny v. Whitesides, neither of which are currently mentioned in the article. I T B F 📢 03:11, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
