Frontier with Angola

I would be interested to see a detailed diagram of the national border with Angola. Most maps show it going through areas of housing in Matadi. I'm assuming the real border is the small river which is just south of the town I haven't been able to find and reference image for this. Francis Hannaway (talk) 10:03, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

Population?

It seems weird to have the past-tense population of the city in the summary section of the article where there's more recent information available. The only reason I can see it being useful is to indicate that the population of the city has grown since then, but that should be flagged in the writing: "But has since increased to [...]." 118.138.118.83 (talk) 23:34, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

Finding a reliable source is the key. The population for 2015 given in the infobox is cited to a source that is no longer available. I'm leary of the sites that turn up in a Google search, not being sure of the reliability of their sources. - Donald Albury 13:49, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Communes

@Zoocat56: In reply to your question in your edit summaries of 21 Dec, I'm not aware of any systematic project to delete articles on DRC communes. Matadi (commune) was WP:PRODed because an editor working on unreferenced articles spotted it because it had no references, and any other commune articles without references are similarly susceptible to being put up for deletion. I should make it clear that Matadi (commune) has not actually been deleted but instead has been redirected to the article on Matadi, to which I added the only decent references I could find quickly, which were to do with electoral reform. Matadi (commune) could be restored if there were enough sources added to meet WP:GEOLAND, although unless there is significant further sourced information to add, it is probably better now to leave it as a redirect.
