"Freeway" really?

[edit]

Do New Englanders actually use the word "freeway" now? The only time I ever heard it used there was when "C.H.I.P.S." was on television. Calling portions of Route 2 a "freeway" instead of an "expressway" or "limited-access highway" makes this article sound like it's about something in California. Or has that changed in the past few years? Wlindley (talk) 11:16, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

In the 40 years I've lived in Central Mass. I've never heard the word freeway used... Rt. 2 has always been referred to as either a "Highway", or just by name. Looneybunny (talk) 04:02, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
