Upcoming releases

[edit]

I think there should there be a section for upcoming releases in the series, like on the page for DC Compact Comics. Journ (talk) 19:14, 22 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

This section existed - but then @Favre1fan93 deleted it, while making a complete mess of something that didn't need changing. Only he can answer why - especially as he did it without any consultation via the Talk page. Peterspeterson (talk) 20:45, 22 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
The page as it existed here was in far worse shape then after the adjustments I made. The entirety of the releases was spread out in unnecessary subsections, and there were releases doubled in both what was stated as "released" and "upcoming", not ideal at all. Streamlining the page was necessary. WP:OTHERSTUFF for the DC Compact Comics; that probably needs to be reformatted as well. I have no opinion if in the new formatting someone wants to level 3 section off the "List of volumes" section to a "Released" and "Upcoming" section, but as the table is currently default sorted by date, that doesn't seem really necessary. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:45, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
The old page was both future-proofed, for when there are new releases - plus in the style of the DC Compacts page, the Marvel Epics page, the DC Finest page, the Marvel omni page - and so on.
Then, without consulting anyone, you binned all that to a style *that will need significant work in the future*. You did that in a way that benefits nobody - despite the fact that literally not one person had complained about the old version. Peterspeterson (talk) 23:30, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just because no one complained doesn't mean it wasn't flawed. I came across the page from other editing, saw it was in need of a fix to be better formatted, and did something about it. The only further complaint was that there isn't an "upcoming" section anymore, which can be easily adjusted with the change. Nothing is ever "future-proofed" and things are always changing and being adjusted because Wikipedia:Wikipedia is a work in progress. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:32, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's only your opinion that it was "in need of a fix" though. My opinion is that it's much worse and you're a bit of a dick. Peterspeterson (talk) 19:55, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome to ask for wider input from the community at WP:COMICS beyond your WP:IDONTLIKEIT opinion. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:34, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Asking for wider input is literally, 100%, the exact thing you should’ve done before imposing your own will on something to which you’ve never contributed. Which is why I standby my previous, correct, remark about you. Trying to impose one rule for others while ignoring it yourself. Peterspeterson (talk) 17:38, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
