COI disclosure, update reqest and maintenance templates

[edit]

i previously worked as a research associate at the Departement of General Practice and Primary Care at University MedicalCenter Hamburg-Eppendorf. I no longer have a professional affiliation with the department or Martin Scherer. I am editing under a pseudonym, independently and without payment. I am disclosing this possible conflict of interest before proposing changes.

The English article contains outdated information and some promotional wording. I propose the following changes:

  1. Update the lead to state that Scherer served as president of DEGAM from 2019 to 2025 and is now a past president.
  2. Update the biography to note that Eva Hummers succeeded him on 1 October 2025 after his two terms as president. Source: https://www.aerztezeitung.de/Medizin/Eva-Hummers-zur-neuen-DEGAM-Praesidentin-gewaehlt-460474.html
  3. Change “President” to “Past President” in the memberships section. Source: https://www.degam.de/praesidium
  4. Replace promotional wording such as “important questions” and “was able to publish a high-ranking RCT” with neutral descriptions of the research.
  5. Add the 2026 honorary award of the Saxon Society of General Practice. Source: https://doi.org/10.1007/s44266-026-00552-9

I will not remove the maintenance templates myself. After the article has been reviewed and improved, could an uninvolved editor please determine whether either template remains necessary? Lmd 2026 (talk) 10:38, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
