Were ABC really "New Wave"?

[edit]

Were ABC really a "New Wave" group? Often the term New Wave gets used as if it were a synonym for punk rock, and I would hardly have thought that ABC were in the same category of pop music as groups such as the Sex Pistols, the Stranglers, the Boomtown Rats, the Clash or Sham 69. I would have thought that it would be more accurate to describe them as a New Romantic group. This was the wing which influenced a lot of pop music after punk rock/New Wave had had its dominant influenced a lot of pop groups. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 19:24, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, the article called List of New Romantics includes ABC - in fact, they are the first pop group on the list. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 19:38, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Maybe this question would best be left on the ABC talk page instead? Best, Joe Vitale 5 (talk) 14:10, 16 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Six singles

[edit]

The opening to this article says that ABC had six singles which entered the top 20 in the U.K. singles charts in the 1980s, and then says "including" - but goes on to name all six singles. Would it not be better to say "which were" than "including" here? Vorbee (talk) 18:21, 28 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
