Dark Waters

[edit]

Needs a mention of the movie Dark Waters (2019). He was the main character. Also some interesting bits about his environmental stances if someone wants to do the research.

Is this really what we want the Wikipedia style to be? How are the EGOTs relevant to someone who literally only has Emmys? It shouldn't be mentioned. 71.167.255.2 (talk) 06:54, 13 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

removing 'Conspiracy theories' section

[edit]

A single social media repost of an article nearly a decade ago without comment is not sufficient to warrant an entire subheading that's sourced to a single sentence from a news piece. If someone wants to add more examples or at least more sources then feel free to reinstate, but as is, this section is not at all commensurate with the scope and significance of the other 'Activism and political views' subheadings which represent ongoing, well known aspects of his public life. 2601:445:801:8520:8C0D:31E7:1588:D15 (talk) 06:40, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that is a reasonable argument. Burrobert (talk) 09:02, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yep, it's an unreferenced political smear. Also one anecdotal example doesn't constitute plural "theories".

Solidarity with Cuba

[edit]

In the politics section there should be a section regarding Mark Ruffalos singning if a letter of support with Cuba against the blockade by US president Trump. For reference: https://www.letcubalive.info/ JochenTheWhochen (talk) 18:59, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

under the activism section, the page says that Ruffalo ‘endorsed him (Jeremy Corbyn) for in the 2019 UK General Election’. Remove ‘for’ or add ‘prime minister’ to make it make sense Ellaasb (talk) 08:43, 26 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Correction to paternal ancestry: Marano Marchesato instead of Girifalco

[edit]

Please change: "His father is of Italian descent, from Girifalco, Calabria"

to: "His father is of Italian descent, with paternal roots traced to Marano Marchesato, Calabria."

Reason and primary sources: Archival records confirm his paternal great-grandfather Filiberto Ruffolo (the original Italian surname spelling) was born and married in Marano Marchesato (Province of Cosenza), not Girifalco (Province of Catanzaro).

1. State Archive of Cosenza (Archivio di Stato di Cosenza - Fondo Liste di Leva): Conscription roll, Class of 1877, Register 144, Act 218, page 316. Filiberto Ruffolo born on March 24, 1877, in Marano Marchesato to Benedetto Ruffolo and Teresa Ruffolo. 2. Civil Registration of Marano Marchesato: Pubblicazioni di Matrimonio (Act No. 18, 1912) between Filiberto Ruffolo and Carmela Cardamone. 3. Archival transcription and documentation analysis: Pro Italian Roots. ~2026-53577-08 (talk) 17:44, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
