Is this ambiguous to you?

[edit]

From life and career " Maria made an agreement with her sister, Bronisława, that she would give her financial assistance during Bronisława's medical studies in Paris " I feel this is ambiguous as to who "she would give her financial assistance" refers to. I had to go to the sources, and can tell you "she" refers to marie. I propose simply "she" is replaced with "marie" to clear this up Lily the autistic (talk) 03:50, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

I rewrote a couple of sentence, see if this is clearef. Johnjbarton (talk) 16:08, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Change the title of the article from Marie Curie to Marie Skłodowska-Curie

[edit]

Marie Skłodowska-Curie had two-part surname and this is how this page should be titled. ~2026-39718-31 (talk) 20:11, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article's first sentence states that she was "better known as Marie Curie", which is in fact how she is known to most readers. Changing this here would likely be contentious, and it is certainly out of sync with how she is generally identified by most sources. Consensus on the name was discussed recently: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1304237442#Requested_move_3_August_2025 Johnjbarton (talk) 20:31, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Perhaps this discussion needs to be closed and archived with the requisite template added here. -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 20:57, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Add 'Skłodowska' to the middle of her name in the title. It's out of respect for her past and identity, and out of respect to Poland. YesbotIsHo (talk) 00:15, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Already done in the article lead, and consensus on the name of the article was discussed recently. See the notice about naming conventions in the talk page header, then follow the procedure at requested moves if you believe it should be changed. Umby 🌕🐶 (talk) 00:30, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Change the title of the page being Marie Curie to Maria Skłodowska-Curie (or Sklodowska-Curie if you don’t want to use polish letters) because that woman was Polish and it was ger will to call her by her polish surname so it should be respected. She’s not Marie Curie. ~2026-45481-02 (talk) 12:11, 19 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
