[edit]

I am Neshan Balian, the son of Marie Balian. My family runs the Balian workshop in Jerusalem where she painted, and I have a conflict of interest (disclosed on my user page), so I am not editing the article myself. In 2024 I added a paragraph directly and it was reverted as promotional; I understand why and I am asking here instead so that independent editors can decide.

I would like to propose two changes:

1. One sentence in the "Balian Family" section, replacing the current final sentences ("The Balian atelier was known as the Palestinian Pottery and Marie was the master painter. Neshan Balian, Marie's son feels compelled to continue the family tradition. He studied ceramic engineering in the United States") with the following neutral, sourced wording:

The Balian atelier on Nablus Road, known as the Palestinian Pottery, remains in operation under the family; her son Neshan Balian, who studied ceramic engineering in the United States, continues the workshop.[1][2]

2. An "External links" section (the article currently has none) with a single entry for the family workshop's page on her work, which holds the largest online collection of images of her tile paintings and is maintained by her family:

I believe this qualifies under WP:ELOFFICIAL as the site maintained by the artist's family and workshop, and under WP:ELYES as a resource with material (a large image archive of her murals) that cannot be included in the article. The site is already used as a citation in the article (reference 3). I am not asking for the workshop's address, products or any commercial wording to be included, and I will accept whatever wording editors consider appropriate. Thank you.
