Photo

[edit]

What's the idea of picturing her as a 7 year old child? Why not a picture as an adult?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.61.62.19 (talk) 06:42, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's the only photograph of her available to us. If you can find a public domain alternative, you are welcome to change it. Joe (talk) 09:55, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
It really shouldn't be there at all, even if it's the only free image available. While it may have a place in the body, frankly it's stupid to put it in the infobox or lead: MOS:LEADIMAGE states: Lead images should be natural and appropriate representations of the topic; they should not only illustrate the topic specifically, but also be the type of image used for similar purposes in high-quality reference works, and therefore what our readers will expect to see. Lead images are not required, and not having a lead image may be the best solution if there is no easy representation of the topic. (emphasis added). The 7-year-old girl pictured is not a mathematician, archaeologist, or technical translator, and keeping it in "just because we have it" infantilizes the subject. I have moved the image to the article body. --Animalparty! (talk) 00:55, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Nationality

[edit]

Although she lived many years in Peru she always remained a German citizen and never gave it up. At the age of 90 she received the Peruvian nationality in honor for her world-renowned studies.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:628:2120:604:6D5D:5D4C:3F4A:F55B (talk) 15:33, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
