Is the title of this article in error?

Yes. My error. This has been redirected to maple syrup and the two articles have been integrated. --user:jaknouse

Sweetness

[edit]

I removed the claim that maple sugar is twice as sweet as (table) sugar. Table sugar is 100% sucrose, and maple sugar is 90% or more sucrose with the remainder being sugars whose sweetness roughly averages out to the same as sucrose. The reference is a how-to article on about.com with no supporting references. I left the part about using maple sugar in place of sucrose, since it's at least reasonable, though the reference is the same unreliable web page.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Paleolith (talkcontribs) 06:43, 16 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
