Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because Chiotis is considered by many to be the greatest bouzouki player of all time. -- Nipsonanomhmata  (Talk) 17:30, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm puzzled by your deletion of the speedy delete tag, especially given your rationale. The notice clearly states that the reason the article should be speedy deleted is that it is a copyviolation. Your rationale for not deleting the article is not relevant to copyviolations.--Epeefleche (talk) 18:36, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have also deleted what may or may not be the copy violation. The rationale stands ... you cannot delete the greatest bouzouki player of all time. Even Jimi Hendrix was impressed by Chiotis.  Nipsonanomhmata  (Talk) 22:11, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
A copy violation is not permissible on wikipedia, no matter how great the notability of the person.--Epeefleche (talk) 22:15, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
I didn't write it or cut and paste it. I have deleted the alleged copyvio. I don't know if I was right to delete it. I just wanted to stop the Speedy Delete.  Nipsonanomhmata  (Talk) 22:43, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
I am referring to your deleting the speedy delete tag, and then supplying as a rationale your indication that Chiotis is notable. Notability of the subject of an article is not relevant to discussions of copyright violations.--Epeefleche (talk) 23:07, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hiotis did not invent the tetrachordo, he popularised it. The Real Walrus (talk) 15:36, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
