Monotypic

[edit]

This article is duplicative of the Manicina areolata article. Monotypic genera only get one article, typically titled by the generic name. Abductive (reasoning) 18:36, 17 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

How strange. I wonder how I failed to notice the other article. They should indeed be merged. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:10, 17 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yes merging would be a good idea for a single species genera. Enlil Ninlil (talk) 23:52, 17 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
I have performed the merger, but am unsure how to record it on the talk page of the two articles. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:43, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Now polytypic

[edit]

With the more recent recognition of two additional species in the genus (M. grandis and M. navicula), I will request a move back to the species page and re-create the genus page as a stub to list all three species. Loopy30 (talk) 17:51, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
