New York is complicated, it's a State, a County and a City.
[edit]This page is about the New York COUNTY Democrats.

There is a New York State Democratic Party and a New York County Democratic Party, but there isn't any New York City Democratic Party. New York City is just a municipality with a City Council. The political breakup of New York City is because of the 1899 Consolidation. New York City and New York County where the same until 1899. The Kings County Democrats ran the municipalities of Brooklyn, Queens County Democrats, etc ....
There are 62 counties in New York with a Republican and Democratic County Committee. That is State Law. Theochino (talk) 23:00, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
Title or Seperate Article
[edit]Should there be a separate article for Manhattan Democratic Party rather than a redirect to this article? I feel like New York implies the whole city or state rather than Manhattan specifically. Rager7 (talk) 00:29, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
